Watershed Definition
Definition: "A watershed describes an area of land that contains a common set of streams and rivers that all drain into a single larger body of water, such as a larger river, a lake or an ocean."
"Water is constantly moving within and between watersheds: Water evaporates from plants and land, falls from clouds in the form of rain or snow, and flows over and under the land in streams, lakes, and groundwater. This movement of water is called the water cycle.
